MY FAVOURITE DAY OF MY EXCHANGE

One of my favorite places during my exchange was definitely Puy du Fou, an amazing historical theme park not far from Angers. It was unlike any park I had ever visited before, because instead of roller coasters or rides, it had incredible shows that made history come alive.

We had to get up at 7 a.m., but it was totally worth it. We drove for about an hour, and when we arrived at the park, it was raining quite a lot, but that didn’t stop us from having a fantastic time and enjoying ourselves. When we entered the park, we went to the first show of the day, which was a kind of play about the Vikings and it was amazing. I was really impressed by the amount of preparation, budget, and the huge stage built for just one show, and I loved being able to experience something like that.

Second show!
The next show was in a recreation of the Roman Coliseum, which was also enormous and beautiful, as can be seen in the photos. This show told a story about a family caught between opposing factions of France and Rome, which made it even more interesting. In both shows, horses were used, but in this one, there were all kinds of animals, which thrilled me and made it one of my favorites. During the show, I saw horse races in Roman style, fights between gladiators, and many different animals.

After this, we had a small break to eat and continued our adventure in a part of the park called “Mousquetaire de Richelieu”, where we saw a play about the Three Musketeers that I loved, especially because María Magdalena was included in the story, and the actors gave it a Spanish touch by dancing sevillanas. I could see that they put a lot of effort into it, and it set very high expectations for the next show, which was also extremely entertaining.
In the next one, we saw a lot of amazing horse tricks performed by the actors, and the staging was incredible, requiring a huge amount of work from everyone involved.

We had the opportunity to see trained birds in the next show, which was also one of my favorites. We saw all kinds of birds, of every size and species. It was amazing how close they flew to us, even landing on some audience members’ heads! I was also impressed by the sheer number of birds in the show.

Finally, we went to see a musical inspired by silent films, which was definitely my favorite. I loved how the actors and actresses were able to express so many emotions without the need for words. Again, the staging and the entire set were perfect and incredible to see.

I was truly impressed by the entire park, and I loved being able to spend the whole day there. Im loving this exchange!
